It’s so great to see that most comments on that staff post are positive…it’s kind of made my whole entire day…

To the few who are complaining that this violates their first amendment rights, you must not understand how the internet works. Tumblr is a private company and thus a private forum for expression. Any website will have its rules and ToS that prohibit certain words or topics, and they can ban you for breaking those rules. You can’t go onto the neopets forums and type “RICK SANTORUM IS A DICK” and then sue them when they suspend your account. Don’t be ridiculous.

While I think the staff would need to outline exactly what constitutes a “pro-self harm” blog as opposed to simply a self harm blog/diary, I really hope they go through with this. I think it could actually make a difference. And I emailed them saying as much.
