I feel the same. The special was meh at best except for the last bit. & minus a few eps, S6 was meh. I dunno. I was really disappointed with the season finale too. All over season finales have blown me away but S6 didn’t. I hope S7 is better :C
Oh man, YES. S6 started off with such a bang, I was so excited and the Silence 2 parter is still one of my all time favs. I was ok with the midseason finale too, though I heard it got a lot of hate.
But the finale? Oh man. I can’t…I don’t even know where to start. It was kind of a train wreck. My Whovian friends and I kind of ripped it to shreds as soon as we finished watching. I felt so cheated by it, honestly. A whole season of buildup for such a simple answer? Such a huge song and dance, even within the episode itself, for very little payoff. There were still some moments that resonated with me, like Amy and River in the garden at the very end, but…I don’t know. I just expected so much more. The Big Bang/Pandorica Opens, I mean, WOW. I did not get that at all from The Wedding of River Song.
Keeping my fingers crossed for S7. I am a little worried that the writing in general seems to be going downhill. And this break is going to do exactly what Moffat wants— build anticipation. I just hope to god he can live up to it.
